Turkey: Erdogan condemns racism after PSG-Istanbul Basaksehir game postponed

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned a racist incident during a UEFA Champions League game between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir, speaking at a news conference in Ankara on Wednesday. »The incident which happened during the football match between PSG and Basaksehir is indeed a new statement of the racist discourse and approach in France. And this is absolutely not acceptable,» said Erdogan. The game on Tuesday was postponed as both sides walked away from the pitch after fourth referee Sebastian Coltescu used a racist term against Basaksehir’s assistant coach, Pierre Webo. The game was set to resume on Wednesday with a new team of officials.
